Dogs on the outside deck | Needs to be in a pet carrier to take inside | No dogs on ferries to pest-free islands (eg Rangitoto Island)

Bring your dog along the next time you’re taking a ferry in Auckland. With Fullers360, you’re allowed to bring your pooch on board as long as you both stay on the outside deck or you bring a pet carrier for your furbaby. Please keep them on a short leash for boarding and disembarking.

You’re not only allowed to bring Fido with you on the commuter ferries but also to day trip islands such as Waiheke Island (which is also super dog-friendly, by the way).

Please note: Dogs are not allowed on ferries to pest-free islands.

Q Pet Code of Conduct

Fullers360 welcomes dogs on our vessels providing they meet our criteria.

Dogs must be kept on a short leash while boarding and disembarking the vessel. Dogs can travel inside the cabin, but we ask that dogs are kept inside a suitable crate, cage or pet carrier:

This needs to be able to secure your dog to prevent them getting out.
It needs to have a leak proof base, be clean and well ventilated.
The crate must always be kept on the floor of the cabin .
Dogs are strictly not permitted on seats or tables.
The odour and/or behaviour of the dog should not impact other passengers e.g. excessive barking is considered inappropriate behaviour.
Disability Assist Dogs are welcome inside the cabin providing their owner or trainer can show appropriate documentation or identification. They’re exempt from travelling in cages/crates.
Owners are responsible for their dogs throughout the journey and are liable for any damage caused by their dog. Owners are expected to clean up after their dogs and be mindful of their behaviour towards other customers.
Owners will be fully responsible for their pets and must abide by all legislation and bylaws relating to their pets, and crew directions. Failure to follow instructions will mean the pet or dog will not be allowed to travel.
No animals, dogs or otherwise are permitted to travel on services to islands in the Department of Conservation Estate – Rangitoto, Motutapu, Motuihe, Rotoroa, Tiritiri Matangi, or the Harbour Cruise. However, fully trained and identifiable Disability Assist Dogs are allowed, please see DOC’s website for further information: http://www.doc.govt.nz/parks-and-recreation/know-before-you-go/dog-access/disability-assist-dogs/
Livestock is prohibited from travelling on all ferries and buses.
