Welcome you to Sunflower Cottage – our cosy, dog-friendly retreat nestled in a peaceful residential street in beautiful Whakatāne.

Our sunny, self-contained cottage sits at the back of our home. It’s completely private, with your own entrance, dedicated parking, and a large deck that separates it from the main house. The space includes a spacious living area, a fully equipped kitchen, a separate bedroom, and a tidy ensuite… everything you need for a comfy, relaxing stay.

If you’re bringing your dog, you’ll be pleased to know they’re just as welcome as you are! There’s a lovely riverside stroll just five minutes from the door along the Warren Cole Walkway – a local favourite. You can also walk to the town centre and New World supermarket in around 10 to 15 minutes, making it easy to enjoy the best of Whakatāne without needing a car.

You’re more than welcome to use the BBQ for some outdoor dining on the deck, and there’s a laundry available too – free of charge, of course. Whether you’re stopping by for a weekend or staying a little longer (our minimum stay is two nights), we want you to feel at home.
