Located just 5 kilometres from Nelson city centre, Tāhuna Beach Holiday Park commands 1km of coastline with 54 acres of parkland, creating happy holiday memories for more than nine decades. Today, the Holiday Park offers accommodation that suits most budgets, from unpowered campsites to cosy cabins and modern, fully self-contained apartment motels. The Park offers five playground areas including a giant bouncing pillow, mini golf, sand volleyball, petanque and pedal-karts on-site, plus direct access to the beach, large playing fields and family attractions, activities and dining options within walking distance. Three national parks, award-winning wineries, art gallery tours, the largest eco-Sanctuary in the South Island, kayaking, the Great Taste Cycle Trail and numerous other activities are all on the doorstep.
We know pets are part of the family so except for two peak months of the year we welcome pets (particularly dogs) into our Classic Studios (2 units) and in one of our camping zones (Green Zone), from 1 Feb to 19 Dec every year for up to 30 days (per calendar year). The Green Zone is ideally located beside the dog-friendly part of Tāhunanui Beach and Back Beach giving fantastic exercise options. It is one of the most scenic parts of the Park with views across the beach and Bay to the mountains.
Our cafe is also dog-friendly, open every day.
From 1 February – 19 December the Cafe is also a pet-friendly zone where four-legged guests are welcome.

Are dogs allowed year-round or are there blackout times/seasons (eg Christmas/New Years etc)?
We know pets are part of the family so except for two Peak months of the year we welcome pets (particularly dogs) into our Classic Studios located in our White Zone near the Park entrance, and also on campsites located in one of our other camping zones (Green Zone), from 1 Feb to 19 Dec every year for up to 30 days (per calendar year). The Green Zone is ideally located beside the dog-friendly part of Tāhunanui Beach and Back Beach, giving fantastic exercise options. It is one of the most scenic parts of the Park with views across the beach and Bay to the mountains. Our largest sites are located in the Green Zone and it is open year-round. Our cafe is also dog-friendly and open every day.
Is it ok for well-behaved dogs to stay 'home alone' while the humans are out and can’t take them (eg for dinner)?

Is there a surcharge for dogs and if yes, how much is it?
Yes there is a surcharge for dogs in our Classic Studios, but there aren't any surcharges in our camping area.

Which room categories are dog-friendly and how many dog-friendly rooms do you have?
Our Classic Studios (2 units) are dog-friendly, and our campsites in the Green Zone (136 sites) are also dog-friendly between 1 February – 19 December every year.
